A MESSAGE FROM ATTORNEY GENERAL LUTHER STRANGE:
DON'T TEXT AND DRIVE.

(MONTGOMERY) – In June of 2013, Attorney General Luther Strange joined with U-Haul and the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) to present the “Arrive Alive: Stop the Texts, Stop the Wrecks!” program to raise awareness of the dangers of texting and driving in Alabama.

“As the chief law enforcement officer in Alabama, I want to take this opportunity to remind you about the dangers of texting and driving,” Attorney General Strange said. “Texting and driving puts yourself and everyone on the road in danger. It’s dangerous, and it’s against the law in Alabama. Over half a million people are injured and thousands die every year due to distracted driving.”

The Attorney General’s Office, UAB, and U-Haul have launched a state-wide campaign featuring “Arrive Alive: Stop the Texts, Stop the Wrecks!” a Public Service Announcement and posters to be located in all Alabama U-Haul locations to remind people to not text and drive.

You may view the Public Service Announcement on our website or acquire an electronic copy by emailing Clay Loftin at cloftin@ago.state.al.us.
