AG Attends Law Enforcement Appreciation Day
(Birmingham) – Attorney General Luther Strange was the keynote speaker at the Birmingham Chapter of the American Soceity for Industrial Security (ASIS International) Law Enforcement Appreciation Day in Birmingham on Tuesday. Each year law enforcement officers from Jefferson, Shelby, and St. Clair counties are recognized in the categories of excellence and valor.
Attorney General Strange was honored to be a part of the event and presented the awards with approximately 180 city, county, state, and federal law enforcement officers in attendance. Nominations were accepted from law enforcement entities in the area. General Strange took the opportunity to thank all the law enforcement officers and personnel in attendance for their dedication to their communities.
"Our law enforcement officers are true and selfless heroes, who dedicate themselves and risk their lives for the protection of their fellow citizens. We owe them a debt that can never be repaid, so it is fitting that we take every opportunity to demonstrate our gratitude and to honor their service to the people of Alabama."
